Arise Dothan is building a launch team of everyday people who want to help others know God, find freedom, discover purpose, and make a difference.
I didn’t grow up in church, so I know what it feels like to be unchurched, unsure, and searching. Jesus used the quiet, faithful witness of an aunt and uncle to draw my heart, and when I finally said “yes” to Him, everything changed.
In my late teens, a youth pastor put his arm around me and simply lived out what it means to follow Jesus. That one relationship shaped my life more than any sermon ever could.
I’ve also walked through deep brokenness. After my divorce, I wondered if my life and ministry were finished. But Jesus never let go of me. He kept calling me back, restoring me, and showing me His grace — again and again.
And now, in this season of life, with the unexpected gift of a daughter born in my early 50s, I know God is writing a new chapter — for me, and for the people of Dothan.
Arise exists because I believe God is raising up a people who will follow Jesus, become like Him, and do what He did — Spirit-filled, biblical, humble, and full of grace.

What Is a Launch Team?
A launch team is a group of everyday people who commit to pray, show up, invite others, and help build Arise Dothan from the ground up so that more people can meet Jesus and take their next steps with Him.

The Road to Launch
We’re building Arise Dothan with intention, prayer, and a clear, strategic path. Here’s how we move from this moment — all the way to launch Sunday.
Now – December 2025
Interest gatherings, prayer meetups, and building the core team. Sunday mornings at Mural City Coffee for fellowship, Scripture, and vision.
January 2026 – August 2027
The official 18-month launch season. Building teams, serving the city, raising support, and practicing life-giving weekend services before the public launch.
Launch Sunday — August 22, 2027
We open the doors wide to Dothan with full kids ministry, worship, biblical preaching, and a clear path to groups, growth track, and serving.

A launch team is a group of people who commit to help start a new church. They pray, show up, invite others, serve, and help build the culture of Arise Dothan before and after launch Sunday.
Do I have to be a “super Christian” or have church experience?
Not at all. We’re looking for everyday people who love Jesus, are curious about faith, or are simply hungry for something more. We’ll train, equip, and walk with you as we grow together.
How much time does being on the launch team require?
We’ll gather weekly for Sundays and have additional team nights, trainings, and serve opportunities along the way. You can start where you are, and we’ll help you find a pace that’s sustainable for your season of life.
What will Arise Dothan believe and feel like?

What about kids and families?
Families matter deeply to us. As we move toward launch, we’ll be building a safe, fun, Jesus-centered environment for kids and an engaging experience for students, along with practical support for parents.
Do I have to give money to be on the launch team?
We believe generosity is part of following Jesus, but there is no pressure. As God leads, some will give financially, others will serve, and many will do both. We’re grateful for every way people partner with the vision.

Why Dothan Needs Arise
Dothan is full of people who are busy, tired, searching, and trying to make life work on their own. Many feel distant from church, unsure about faith, or wounded by past experiences. We believe Jesus has not given up on this city. Many in Dothan have never truly experienced a life-giving church where they can come as they are, ask honest questions, and encounter Jesus in a real way. Arise is being planted with the unchurched and the “done with church” in mind.
